ABOUT US | PRESIDENT'S STATEMENT












Over 30 years back first application of intracardiac electrogram recording and electric stimulation of the heart in clinical praxis gave rise to catheter diagnostics and treatment of cardiac rhythm disorders.

During the 70s of the past century basic mechanisms of various forms of cardiac arrhythmias were studied and first instruments and devices for diagnostic and therapeutic electric cardiac stimulation were designed. The next decade marked the development and application in clinical praxis of antitachycardia pacing and cardioverter defibrillator implantation techniques. Open heart surgery for arrhythmia removal was considerably improved and new revolutionary methods of intracardiac ablation of heart's conduction pathways were developed for tachycardia treatment.

In the last decade of the XX century there were further improvements of electrophysiological diagnostics and open heart surgery, development of unique physiological pacemakers, new generations of cardioverter defibrillators, ablation electrodes, new devices and techniques improving quality of cardiac mapping and visualization and methods of intacardiac radiofrequency ablation. Today these methods are the principal tools for radical removal of tachycardias and tachyarrhythmias. Altogether these achievements made for origination of a new speciality - clinical electrophysiology and pacing or arrhythmology. And application of interventional arrhythmology methods allowed for effective treatment of various cardiac rhythm and conduction disorders.

At present arrhythmologists undertake new missions lying in mastering and wide distribution of interventional arrhythmology methods and study procedures of the heart electrophysiolgy.

Progress in interventional arrhythmology in future relates most of all to the interdisciplinary cooperation between researchers, physicians and engineers.

Since 1990 ELECTROPULSE have been creating solutions for catheter diagnostics and treatment of arrhythmias in close collaboration with physicians of Tomsk Research Institute of Cardiology. Together we made a lot for advancement of interventional arrhythmology services in Russia and CIS countries. And now in Russia most radiofrequency ablations of abnormal conduction pathways are done using ELKART system.

Our company is involved in the federal programme to equip the leading cardiological centers in Moscow, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, Tomsk and other major cities of Russia with our ELKART systems. We are positive that accomplishment of this programme will allow Russia to approach the arrhythmia treatment standards accepted in the world.
