The mission of NASPE, an organization of physicians, scientists and allied professionals throughout the world dedicated to the study and management of cardiac arrhythmias, is to improve the care of patients by promoting research, education and training, and providing leadership toward optimal healthcare standards and politics.

ELECTROPULSE is proud to be the very first Russian medical industrial company, exhibited its products at this high standard event. Annual Scientific Sessions of NASPE and concurrent exhibitions give the unique opportunity of contacting, communication and information interchange between physicians and medical equipment manufacturers from all over the globe. Over 6000 attendees from over 70 countries attended this years Annual Scientific Sessions.

During the exhibition we enjoyed considerable interest to our booth. All comers had an opportunity to learn about the development of electrophysiology and arrhythmology in Russia and in Tomsk in particular; to trace the milestones of effective cooperation of Research Institute of Cardiology, Tomsk Scientific Center (branch of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Russian Federation) and ELECTROPULSE Medical Industries Ltd.; and to get detailed information about the products of our company.

In many cases the interest shown towards our products was of a practical character. Weighty testimonials of John D. Fisher, MD, FACC, FESC and Mark E. Josephson, MD were positive constituents of overall description of our company and characterization of manufactured equipment quality.

The ELKART EP LAB electrophysiology system excited particular interest of the attendees of our booth. Software-based integration of an amplifier/recording system, a microprocessor controlled programmable stimulator, a radiofrequency generator, a workstation and two monitors conveniently arranged on a mobile cart; as well as the fact that the equipment is designed and manufactured in Russia (and as the result - a very competitive price) make ELKART EP LAB very tempting for potential buyers and users.

Numerous guests of our booth expressed sincere hope for the development of contacts established during the exhibition. Now we are preparing for the 13th International Congress CARDIOSTIM 2002, in Nice, France.

Recently we had a pleasure to welcome Dr. John D. Fisher, M.D., F.A.C.C., director of arrhythmia services of Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, New York to Tomsk. Dr. Fisher arrived to Russia for a week's visit at request of ELECTROPULSE company. During his visit Dr. Fisher observed several operations at the Tomsk Research Institute of Cardiology and evaluated ELECTROPULSE's medical equipment that was used in the course of these operations. ":I did not discover any disadvantages of the devices I have seen so far. This equipment is quite comparable with what we are currently using in the U.S. I think the ELKART lab can be very competitive in the U.S. market:" commented Dr. Fisher in his interviews to local mass media. He also noticed that ELECTROPULSE was the first and only Russian company that submitted Premarket Approval application for its product to FDA. Besides that Dr. Fisher accepted an invitation to participate in the 5th International Slavic Congress on Pacing and Cardiac Electrophysiology that took place in St. Petersburg, February 7-9, 2002 and delivered a talk during one of the scientific sessions.

Soon we will provide Dr. Fisher's assessment of the ELKART lab for your information.
