ARGON PLUSGAS SUPPLY UNIT FOR ARGON-ENHANCED ELECTROSURGERY ELECTROPULSE introduces new argon gas supply unit completing its ELECTROPULSE S-350RF electrosurgical generator with argon-enhanced cutting and coagulation options.
Argon-enhanced electrosurgery is well known to have fundamental advantages over conventional electrosurgery methods: - Argon has lower ionization threshold than oxygen, thus less power is required to create "arcs". This results in less tissue damage;
- Argon keeps oxygen away from the tissues, thereby greatly decreasing tissue carbonization and undesirable smoke and smell;
- The flow of argon gas also cleanses blood and fluids from the surgical site to allow application directly on the tissue and enhance surgical visibility;
- Use of argon generators with accessories for flexible endoscopes provides new applications in endoscopy.
CLINICAL BENEFITS - More efficient and reliable hemostasis including that of large surface bleeding as well as aerostasis and cholestasis.
- Reduced procedure time and blood loss due to more rapid and effective coagulation.
- Reduced risk of infection and postoperative complications.
- Enhanced healing, especially in contaminated surgery. Number of suppurative complications is 8 times less. Better cosmetic results.
