GAS SUPPLY UNIT FOR
ARGON-ENHANCED ELECTROSURGERY

ELECTROPULSE introduces new argon gas supply unit completing its ELECTROPULSE S-350RF electrosurgical generator with argon-enhanced cutting and coagulation options.

Argon-enhanced electrosurgery is well known to have fundamental advantages over conventional electrosurgery methods:

• Argon has lower ionization threshold than oxygen, thus less power is required to create "arcs". This results in less tissue damage;
• Argon keeps oxygen away from the tissues, thereby greatly decreasing tissue carbonization and undesirable smoke and smell;
• The flow of argon gas also cleanses blood and fluids from the surgical site to allow application directly on the tissue and enhance surgical visibility;
• Use of argon generators with accessories for flexible endoscopes provides new applications in endoscopy.
